City Of Golden Launches West Downtown Survey
The city has launched its second neighborhood survey.
GOLDEN, CO — The City of Golden is asking residents to fill out a West Downtown Neighborhood Survey. This second survey follows last year's poll, and will collect additional information about the region.
West Downtown is located west of Miner’s Alley, north and east of the Colorado School of Mines, and south of Clear Creek. It's comprised of mostly residential properties, the 12th Street Historic Neighborhood and some commercially-zoned properties.
The survey asks for residents' views on specific land uses, architectural standards, parking, and improvements to accessibility and connections throughout the neighborhood.

Last fall, city planning staff attended public events to educate the community about the West Downtown planning effort, and a survey was launched to gather feedback. About 150 residents filled out the survey, and its results were tallied. The city's planning division has met with various stakeholders to gather additional insight into development ideas.

Commercially zoned properties, city-owned properties and the public right-of-way in the West Downtown may undergo changes; however, historically-registered buildings such as Astor House, the Armory, Calvary Church and History Park will remain untouched, the city said.
Your feedback will influence the creation of the draft planning document that will help shape the future of downtown, officials said. The survey can be found at www.guidinggolden.com/west-downtown-neighborhood.
The survey will close at the end of June.
