Evergreen Boys Basketball Grabs First Win Under New Coach

Evergreen senior Tyler Green drove to the hoop during the Cougars' 57-40 victory over Adams City.

LAKEWOOD, CO — By Dennis Pleuss for CHSAANow.com/JeffCo. It won’t be remembered as the most stylistic victory during the tenure for Evergreen’s first-year boys basketball coach Jeff Dolan, but it will go down as his first win leading the Cougars.

“It was great to get Coach Dolan his first win here at Evergreen,” said Evergreen senior Tyler Green who led the way with a game-high 19 points in a 57-40 victory Thursday night over Adams City. “It was a rough win, but a win is a win and we’ll take it.”

The victory came in the opening round of the Paul Davis Classic hosted by Green Mountain High School. The Cougars won the tournament last year on their run to a 19-6 record. However, Evergreen looks very different from top to bottom this year.
