Golden July 4th Fireworks, Music And More: 2018 Guide
The Free Lions Park July 4 celebration will feature music, food and fireworks in Golden, including gluten free and veggie food trucks.

GOLDEN, CO – Independence Day is almost upon us, and the Golden Lions Club will celebrate their decades-long tradition by hosting a day-long festival of music and food, ending with a spectacular fireworks celebration in Lions Park, 1300 10th St. in Golden.
The 47th Annual Lions Club 4th of July Celebration begins at 11 a.m. with the opening of the park.
- Friendly and leashed dogs are welcome.
- Bring a comfortable chair, sunscreen and water.

- Pack your own picnic, or
- Buy food from the American Legion who will be cooking up hot dogs, brats and other items.
- Gluten free and vegetarian options will available from two on-site food trucks.
- Adult beverages: Beer will be available to those over 21 and provided by Miller Coors and the Golden City Brewery. Back by Popular Demand: Sangria and wine from local winery Bonacquisti Wines, Denver's Urban Winery made in Sunnyside since 2006. (Remember that outside alcohol may not be brought into or consumed in the park).
- Note: Use of a portable propane camp stove is permitted if the stove’s propane tank has a capacity of 2 pounds or less, by city ordinance.
Music Schedule:
- 12 – 3 p.m. Rocking Country with Union Gray
- 3:30 – 6 p.m. Rockabilly with Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene
- 6:30 – 9:15 p.m. Rock and Roll with Something Underground

Raffles:
For $5 each or five tickets for twenty dollars, you get a chance to win one of about 100+ prizes ranging from overnight stays at mountain casinos to the grand prize of $1000 donated by the Lions Club. Also, the tickets are printed with coupons that can be used for discounts with local merchants. You don't have to be present to win. Winners are announced throughout the day with the grand-prize winner identified just before the fireworks. Most of the raffle prizes are donated by local merchants and businesses as their way of supporting the event and the community.

DIY Fireworks are banned in Golden, even sparklers, stink bombs and bottle rockets.
Because of high fire danger, the Jefferson County Sheriff has declared Stage 1 fire restrictions, banning all fireworks and limiting where cigarettes can be extinguished on unincorporated JeffCo land.
Because of dry conditions and high fire danger, JeffCo Open Space has declared Stage 2 fire restrictions: No campfires, no charcoal grills or open flames, no smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or a developed trailhead area that is devoid of all vegetation. Visitors must safely and properly dispose of all cigarette butts.
