Golden Spring Tree Sale Begins Next Week
The Golden Parks and Recreation Department offers 11 deciduous tree species for only $65.

GOLDEN, CO – After bad news from the Golden Forestry Department about the Emerald Ash Beetle last fall, the city's annual spring tree sale will give you a second chance to put in some greenery for a reasonable price.
The Golden tree sale opens March 1. The Golden Parks and Recreation Department will be selling a diverse mix of eleven deciduous tree species, especially for Golden residents. All trees come in seven gallon pots and cost $65 plus tax.
In November, the city's forestry department announced that they would begin strategic culling of 300 ash trees in Golden, to try to get ahead of the invasive pest making its way along the Front Range. Forestry experts around the country now agree that a diverse mix of landscaping trees helps guard against a single-species pest taking out the urban canopy.
