Home Advisor To Depart From Golden To Denver

The home services company gave a tour this week of rented space in Denver's new Hub building in RiNo.

GOLDEN, CO – Golden-based HomeAdvisor is moving its headquarters to Denver in April, the company announced.

The online home services company that once boasted the highest paid CEO in the state, held an open house this week at RiNo's fashionable Hub, the eight story office building at 3601 Walnut Street, the Denver Post reported.

Nearly 400 employees will move from Golden by the first week of April, the company said. The company employs around 3,900 people total.

HomeAdvisor employees "will have access to a private, top-floor patio, in-building parking and gym and multi-function outdoor space with mountain views," the Denver Post reported.

The company switched CEOs this fall, with the resignation of Chris Terrill in October from both the company and the board. Terrill oversaw the company's $500 million acquisition of its rival Angie's List and the company's first IPO. Brandon Ridenour, HomeAdvisor’s chief product officer, became the new CEO.

The company has been the focus of several local lawsuits alleging that the company gave contractors "bogus leads" and that they bought Google ads that redirected clicks from a local competitor to HomeAdvisor. One suit claimed the company sales culture was rife with drugs, bullying and sexual harassment.

The company headquarters has been located at 14023 Denver W Pkwy. in Golden.

According to the JeffCo Economic Development Corporation, the company employed 1,140 people in Jefferson County in 2017.
