Housing Market Golden: Home Sellers Getting More Than Asking Price, Says Study
A new 3-year study shows suburban Metro Denver sellers are at an advantage.

GOLDEN, CO -- Everyone knows Metro Denver has a tight housing market, with demand for homes in the area exceeding the supply. A new study shows that this summer, the Denver suburb of Golden had a boost in sales prices with more between 35-50 percent of sellers receiving more than asking price.
Homelight.com, an online site connecting home sellers with real estate agents, reviewed the last three years’ worth of home transactions data to determine some of the country’s tightest housing markets.
"The American City Business Journal predicts the population of Denver is projected to grow by more than 50 percent in the next 25 years, meaning the population will continue to far outstrip available housing," a statement from HomeLight said.
Generally, between early spring and late summer is the best time for home sellers. According to HomeLight, sellers in the suburb of Golden are feeling the tight market.
· While a relatively small city, Golden has been the hottest markets at times, with more than 60 percent of homes selling above list in February 2016. More recently, between 30 and 40 percent of home sellers regularly received above initial listing in the latter half of 2017.
