Rockslide Closes Mountain Highway Near Glenwood Canyon: CDOT
Boulders and debris on the road closed mountain roads near Glenwood Canyon. Both directions of I-70 were temporarily closed.

GARFIELD AND EAGLE COUNTIES, CO – An early morning rockslide closed the road in Glenwood Canyon after boulders and debris tumbled off the canyon wall into the road. Both directions of I-70 were closed, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.
CDOT crews and geohazard team arrived on the scene around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning and then began work at daybreak to evaluate the size of the rockslide and any damage to the roadway, the agency said.
The rockslide occurred at mile point 120.5 about a half a mile west of the Grizzly Creek rest area. About 300 cars per hour travel through Glenwood Canyon during peak traffic times, CDOT said.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
Closure points for the incident are eastbound Exit 116/Main Glenwood Springs and westbound at Exit 133/Dotsero. Commercial Vehicle truck parking was implemented at the Dotsero location.
