Teen On The Run From Golden Youth Detention Center: Police
15-year-old described as a "violent offender" fled while visiting the Dept. of Motor Vehicles office, police said.
Golden, CO – A 15-year-old resident and "violent offender" from a Jefferson County youth detention facility escaped Thursday morning, Golden police said. Police are asking the public's help in locating the teen.
Devon Brock, a resident of the Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center walked away around 10:15 a.m., while being taken by staff to the Golden branch of the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle to get a state ID.
Brock was last seen headed east out of the building. He was described as a black male, 5’4” tall and weighing 110 lbs. Brock was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue pullover shirt.

Police were actively searching the area with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 dogs. Area schools were on lock-out for about two hours during the search, but the lock-out is now lifted, police said.
Brock, formerly from El Paso County, was sentenced to the Division of Youth Corrections in June of 2018, then transferred to the Youth Facility in Golden in October, 2018. His mandatory release date was scheduled for June 2020, the Golden police said in a statement. Lookout Mountain staff took Brock to the DMV office to acquire an ID and social security information, to prepare for him to transition to a "step-down facility" in July, police said.

"If you see [Brock] or have any information, please contact 911 immediately. Do not approach him," police said in a statement.
