Truck With 40,000 Lbs Of Manure Dumps Onto Exit Ramp In Jeffco

A tractor trailer filled with manure rolled over at I-70 and the C-470 exit, causing delays. No injuries were reported.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Around 40,000 pounds of chicken manure was dumped Thursday morning in the C-470 exit off westbound I-70 in Jefferson County. A tire blew on a tractor trailer and the vehicle rolled over, deputies said.

"Fortunately no one is hurt and no other cars were involved," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet.

The exit ramp was blocked for several hours while a cleanup was underway.

"Firefighters on scene say the pictures don't do the smell justice," the sheriff's office said.

Golden firefighters were tasked with assisting in the cleanup.
