Arapahoe County Moves To Level Clear: What To Know

The county shifts to Level Clear on Sunday. Here are the public health restrictions that will change.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — Arapahoe County will move to Level Clear on Sunday, which will allow businesses to operate at 100 percent capacity, public health officials said. The new level will remain in effect for a three-month observation period.

Schools will also be able to open at 100 percent capacity.

Colorado is lifting the statewide mask mandate; however, the Tri-County Health Department — which oversees Arapahoe, Adams and Douglas counties — said it needs more time to assess the state's guidelines before a decision is made to adopt the new guidance.

Douglas County opted out of the Dial 3.0 system — which includes Level Clear — in April.

If hospitalizations surge during Level Clear, Arapahoe and Adams counties may have to reinstate business capacity limits, public health officials said. The county must not exceed two hospital admissions per 100,000 residents in 14 days.

“This move to Level Clear is possible because residents of Adams and Arapahoe Counties are choosing to get vaccinated and have continued high levels of compliance in wearing masks and practicing social distancing,” said John M. Douglas, Jr., MD, Executive Director of the Tri-County Health Department.

“This is happening because community partners are continuing to work together and those partnerships will help our communities stay fully open. And now that the FDA and CDC have approved use of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12 to 15, the benefits of vaccination can be extended to even greater portions of our communities.”

Denver, Jefferson and Boulder counties are also moving to Level Clear on Sunday.
