Hudson Gardens 2021 Concert Season Canceled
One of Littleton's most popular event series won't be held this summer.
LITTLETON, CO — The Hudson Gardens Summer Concert Series has been canceled for another year, organizers announced Thursday.
The cancellation is due to the "strong likelihood of ongoing capacity restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic," Hudson Gardens said in a statement posted on its website.
"On a positive note, we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel for the entertainment industry," the statement read.

"The vaccine rollout is a huge reason for optimism. However, it is almost certain that social distancing protocols will remain in place throughout the summer. These protocols protect the health and safety of our communities; however, they are financially unsustainable for our concert series, which is known for large crowds drawn to see internationally famous performers."

The decision to cancel the series had to be made early, organizers said.
"We understand that a lot can change before the summer," the statement read.
"However, shows on the scale of our Summer Concert Series require many months of planning and hefty deposits well before the events themselves. We need to inform the talent as well as our lighting, sound, and staging partners as soon as possible."
The series relies on selling tickets at the usual capacity, and operating under reduced capacity wouldn't cover the costs, Hudson Gardens said.
