ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — More than 4,200 coronavirus outbreaks have been reported in Colorado since the pandemic began, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Some stores and restaurants continue to report outbreaks in Denver's metro area, despite climbing vaccination rates.

Arapahoe County businesses have strict cleaning procedures and coronavirus safety measures in place; however, some are still dealing with ongoing outbreaks due to the number of people who shop in person each week.

Some outbreaks have lasted more than two months since they were first detected.

Here is a list of active outbreaks at stores and chain restaurants in Arapahoe County as of Wednesday:

  • Target, 4301 E Virginia Ave., in Glendale: Since this outbreak was first reported Feb. 8, 33 cases have been reported among staff, the state data shows.
  • Target, 16910 E Quincy Ave., Aurora: An outbreak was first reported at this store in late October, and since then 40 cases have been reported among staff.
  • The Home Depot, 14001 E Mississipi Ave., Aurora: Since this outbreak was first reported in late October, 44 positive COVID-19 tests have been confirmed among staff, according to the state report.
  • In-N-Out Burger, 14150 E Alameda Ave., Aurora: Since mid-December, 90 cases have been reported among staff members, the state data shows.

If you're concerned about contracting the virus and delivery or takeout services aren't an option for you, washing your hands as frequently as possible, social distancing and wearing a mask will go a long way in protecting you, health officials said.
