Littleton One Of Top Colorado Cities For Active Renters: Report

A new report ranks the best cities for renters who want to get fit and have an active lifestyle.

LITTLETON, CO — If you're renting a place in Littleton and plan to get in peak physical condition in time for summer, you're in luck — the city is one of the best places in Colorado for active renters, according to a new RentCafé report. Littleton even beat out Denver, a city that's known for its apartment building fitness amenities.

Littleton is the 4th best city in Colorado for active renters, according to the study. Westminster took the top spot, followed by Fort Collins and Englewood, respectively. Denver was ranked No. 5.

Over the past decade, more apartment buildings around the country are including fitness amenities.

Around 73 percent of the buildings in Littleton have gyms, the report shows. The average rent in the city is $1,611, and the average rent for an apartment building with a fitness center is $1,648 — a difference of only $37 per month.

Denver ranks 2nd among the country’s Best Large Cities for Active Renters, according to RentCafé. A total of 71 percent of its apartment buildings are equipped with a fitness amenity. The city is outranked only by Austin, Texas.

While renting in buildings with gyms may cost more, the price difference in Denver is $80 per month above the city average rent — an increase that most renters are willing to pay, according to the renter survey.

Colorado’s No. 1 best city for active renters, Westminster, has fitness amenities in 77 percent of apartment buildings. The price difference between an apartment in a building with a gym and the average rent in the city is only $34 in the city.
