LITTLETON, CO — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a violent carjacking at a car wash in Littleton, police said.

Michael Dent, 51, faces multiple charges, including robbery, assault, motor vehicle theft and second-degree burglary, police said.

A 63-year-old woman drove into the Atlantis Car Wash, at 5474 South Federal Circle, around 12:15 p.m. Jan. 28. She put her vehicle in park, which automatically unlocked all her car's doors.

As soon as the wash cycle started and the windshield was obscured, Dent walked up to the driver's door and opened it, police said. He grabbed her arm and yelled at her to get out of the car, according to the Littleton Police Department.

"She resisted and attempted to fight off the suspect," the department said in a news release issued in late January. "Ultimately the suspect grabbed the victim by the neck, bit her, then forcibly pulled her from the vehicle and threw her to the ground. The suspect then fled in the victim's car."
