Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Parts Of Metro Denver

The National Weather Service has issued a storm alert for parts of Arapahoe, Adams, Denver and other Colorado counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Denver's metro area. The warning remains in effect until 12:30 p.m. Sunday, however a thunderstorm watch remains until 7 p.m. Sunday.

Wind could gust up to 60 mph in some areas and nickel-size hail could fall, the agency said.

"At 1140 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles southwest of Barr Lake, or 14 miles north of Denver, moving east at 25 mph," weather officials said. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."

Regions included in the storm warning: Northeastern Denver, Aurora, eastern Thornton, Commerce City, Brighton, Denver International Airport, Bennett, Manila Village, Buckley AFB, Watkins, Barr Lake, Todd Creek and Strasburg.

The storm watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. for Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, Crowley, El Paso, Lincoln, Yuma and other Colorado counties outside Denver's metro area. A full list can be found here.
