Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Arapahoe County

The National Weather Service has issued a storm alert for Arapahoe, Douglas, Adams and other Colorado counties.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Denver's metro area. The warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

As of noon, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Arapahoe Park, or 17 miles east of Denver, moving north at 10 mph, weather officials said.

"Penny size hail will be possible with this storm," the weather alert reads. "Hail may accumulate on roadways causing hazardous travel."
