Winter Storm Warning Issued For Metro Denver

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Denver's metro area and other Front Range regions.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for Denver's metro area. A winter storm warning will be in effect until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Between 5 and 13 inches of snow fell in some regions, weather officials said.

"Travel will be difficult and is discouraged," the alert read. "Slick roads are expected for the morning commute.”

Many schools and government buildings have delayed their openings.

Denver Public Schools, Jeffco Public Schools and Adams 14 are holding remote classes Thursday.

“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency,” the alert read.

The alert was issued for many cities, including Denver, Lakewood, Arvada, Golden, Littleton, Castle Rock, Boulder and Longmont.
