100-Unit Avon Housing Development Underway

Construction has begun on a controversial residential development.

AVON, CT - A Farmington Valley development team has begun construction of a 100-unit residential development, according to the Hartford Business Journal. The luxury homes are being constructed near a Nod Road golf course.

Three-bedroom homes will run an average of $400,000 per unit and four-bedroom residences will be an average of $699,000, the Hartford Business Journal reported. The site will include 174 acres of preserved open space.

There has been consistent local opposition to the development from a group called "Save Nod Road." Area residents said that the development could ruin the beautiful area they live in.
