59 Year Old Torrington Man, Evan Toder, Dead, Suicide Suspected
Torrington resident, Evan A Toder of Darling st., discovered dead late Sunday, December 27, 11:30pm, by friend J. Watley. Suicide Suspected.
Torrington CT resident, Evan Toder, age 59, was found dead on late Sunday night Dec 27, 2020.
Evan's friend, Thomaston resident, Mr Watley, received a disturbing and garbled phone call from Mr. Toder at about 11:30pm on Dec. 27, 2020. Mr. Watley described Evan's tone as very upset and disturbing. Alarmed by the phone call, Mr. Watley rushed to Evan Toders residence of 227 Darling st.
When Mr. Watley arrived, the door to Evans home was wide open and his dog Sydney, was loose on the front lawn. Mr. Watley found Evan Toder in his bed, unresponsive with no pulse. On the bed was an empty bottle of benzodiazepines and an empty one pint bottle of hard liquor.

Mr. Watley said that Evan had been through a lot of stress and trying times over the last couple of years. Mr Watley stated "Evan had a big heart and was very generous to the wrong people. Evan seemed to attract the leeches who took advantage of his kindness and big heart. Evan was a good guy and I will truly miss him."
A note was discovered on the bed next to Evan that explained that his only wish is that a good home be found for his prized possession, a Weimaraner named Sydney.
