Avon Attorney Faces Forgery, ID Theft Charges: Report
An Avon attorney accused of stealing from a political action committee is facing forgery and identity theft charges.

AVON, CT — An Avon attorney is facing charges for forgery and identity theft along with accusations that he stole thousands of dollars from a political action committee, according to FOX 61. Michael Cronin, 57, was charged with 26 counts of second-degree forgery and 12 counts of third-degree identity theft.
The charges are related various real estate and refinancing documents involving the divorce from his first wife, FOX 61 reported.
Cronin was the former treasurer of the state Senate Republican Leadership Committee and is accused of stealing $267,800 from the committee for his local use.
