Connecticut Bakery Owner To Appear On 'Beat Bobby Flay'
The owner of a bakery in Avon, West Hartford and South Windsor, will show off her pastry skills in the Food Network show.
AVON, CT — The owner of an Avon bakery will be making an appearance on the Food Network show "Beat Bobby Flay" on Feb. 9, The Hartford Courant reported. Miriam Taylor, who owns Taste by Spellbound bakeries in Avon, South Windsor, and West Hartford, will compete in the pastry-making competition against TV chef Bobby Flay.
Taylor will appear in the episode "Chocolate Covered Clash," where she competes against a South Carolina pastry chef. The two are given 20 minutes to come up with a dish using a main ingredient chosen by Flay. The winner then goes on to face Flay head-to-head.
On the Taste by Spellbound Facebook page, Taylor wrote: "Last spring I got a call from Christian Petroni saying he gave my name to the producers at Beat Bobby Flay. I was like 'what? Why?! I’m not in those leagues!' And he said 'shut up! You’re crazy talented! You can do this!' Well. I did. Remember that random Thursday last June we closed the shop and went to NY with my team? I’ll be on #beatbobbyflay Feb 9th at 10pm! I went up against a crazy talented baker named DaVee from South Carolina for some major girl power. The highlight of the day was having Drew Barrymore and Michael (V)oltaggio as our guest judges."
