Avon Cooling Centers Opened

Due to the high temperatures that are forecast, the town is designating the two cooling centers that will be available for any resident seeking respite from the heat and humidity.

The Senior Center hours of availability are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The center is located at 635 West Avon Rd., and the phone number is 860-675-4355.

The library is available Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
