Avon Girls Capture Class MM Track and Field Title

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The girls' team from Avon High School turned in 14 placewinning performances, including three individual event winners, to capture the team title at the Class MM track and field championships Wednesday at Middletown High School.

Carly Carpino was a double winner for the Falcons, winning the 100 meter hurdles in 15.02 seconds and the 300 meter hurdles in 46.60 seconds. Rhiannon Richmond won the 1,600 meter run in 5:18.91. Avon placed in the top eight in 11 other events.

A pair of Falcon boys had top eight performances.
