Avon Lions to Host 2019 Pasta Dinner
The Avon Lions Club will host their annual Pasta Dinner fundraiser on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.

The Avon Lions Club will host their annual Pasta Dinner fundraiser on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.
The event will take place at 1st Company, Governor’s Horse Guard facility, 280 Arch Road in Avon.
The Pasta Dinner continues to be a popular family event and will feature pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs, salad, rolls, lemonade, coffee and tea. Ticket prices are: Adults - $10.00, children 5 to 12 - $5.00, and children 4 and under – free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any member of the Avon Lions Club. As in years past, there will be a raffle for gift baskets and gift certificates to local restaurants and merchants. The public is invited to bring their used eyeglasses, hearing aids, and cell phones to the Pasta Dinner for recycling.

The funds raised at this event are used by the Avon Lions Charities, Inc. to support charities, civic outreach organizations, and eyesight-related services at the local, regional, and international levels. These include Avon Dollars for Scholars, Avon Social Services, the American School for the Deaf, Gifts of Love, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Lions Low Vision Center, the Hartford Braillers Blind Hockey Team, and others.
Founded in 1951, the Avon Lions Club has a long history of service to the community. In recent years, its service activities have included conducting environmental clean-ups, delivering meals-on-wheels, performing pediatric eye screenings at local elementary schools and day care facilities, serving coffee for residents and their families at the Avon Health Center, and bell ringing for the Salvation Army during the holidays.
