Avon Obituary: Beverly Church, 84

Beverly S. Church died Sunday May 6, 2018.

She was born June 2, 1933 in Hartford to Gladys and Edward Sicard. Beverly grew up in Wilson and Windsor. She graduated in 1951 from John Fitch High School in Windsor.

She worked as an insurance secretary until her marriage to her husband, Robert F. Church, in 1956. They lived in Windsor Locks, where they raised their children, Jeffrey and Robin. Bev was an active member of the Windsor Locks Women’s Club and served in many positions. Bob and Bev were married for 59 years until his death in 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff, in 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Bartholomew, son-in-law Stephen Bartholomew, grandchildren Ben, Kathryn, and Adam Bartholomew of Simsbury, her brother Edward Sicard, Jr of Storrs, and many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she loved.

In 2012 Bev moved to River Ridge of Avon in Avon, where she embraced the life of that community. We are so grateful for the genuine love and outstanding care the staff of River Ridge gave Bev, especially at the end of her life.

Beverly will have a private funeral service and burial.
