Avon Repeats as High School Golf Champions
Top 5 finishes from four Falcons led to a 14-stroke victory in the Division II championships Tuesday.

HARWINTON, CT — Last year, the Avon High School golf team won its first team championship in 32 years, edging New Canaan by three strokes for the Division II title. On Tuesday, the Falcons repeated the feat, but this time by a much more comfortable margin.
Led by medalist Michael Hanratty and three other top five performances, Avon easily outdistanced runnerup Berlin by 14 strokes to successfully defend its championship at Fairview Farms Golf Club.
Hanratty was the only player in the field to break par, shooting a 1-under 71 to nose out three golfers, including teammate Cole Hahn, by a single stroke. Tyler Hahn and Samuel Cuddeback each fired a 75 to tie for fifth.
