Avon Road To Be Closed During Project

AVON, CT — In the near future, the portion of Climax Road between Route 44 and Bickford Drive will be closed for regrading work, In conjunction with the Avon Village Center development. Flashing message boards are posting this information in the area of the road closure, to notify the public. The Avon Police Department has reviewed and approved the road detour system that will go Into effect on August 24, 2020. Residents of Bickford Extension will use a newly created route to exit the area and proceed east on Bickford Drive Of go north on Climax Road. Emergency service vehicles will have access to all residential areas via the temporary road detour system. The Avon Village Center Project developer plan is to end the detours as quickly as possible in advance of the winter season.
