Avon Road, Bridge Project Starts Monday
A $14.6-million road and bridge project starts Monday.

AVON, CT - The state transportation department project is beginning Monday that will level a local road and replace a flood-prone bridge, the Hartford Courant reported. The $14.6 million project will level out Old Farms Road at Route 10 and replace a bridge over the Farmington River.

The project is anticipated to be completed in 2020 and will likely involve periodic lane closures. The only shutdown of Old Farms Road between Route 10 and Tillotson Road is expected to take place in July for two weeks.
