Avon School Reports Coronavirus Case, Enacts Quarantine

AVON, CT — A member of the Pine Grove School community tested positive for COVD-19, according a letter Superintendent Bridget Carmonella wrote to the community.

The letter reads: "Out of an abundance of precaution, we have made the decision, in consultation with the Farmington Valley Health District, that the staff and students who were in contact with this individual will quarantine and engage in remote learning through the remainder of this week. All other staff and students will continue to report to Pine Grove School, following the school schedule."

The district has notified the families and staff members who may have had contact with the individual who tested positive.

The district will monitor students and staff in quarantine for COVID-19 symptoms.

The school had done a deep clean of the areas the individual used.
