Avon VFW Memorial Day Parade Set For Monday, May 31
All veterans are encouraged to march or ride.
May 24, 2021
Please join us this year for our 76th Anniversary Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31st starting at 11:00 a.m. We encourage ALL VETERANS to join us and march in the Parade. Cars are available for Veterans needing a ride. Parade steps off at the Board of Education Annex, 34 Simsbury Road, heading south on Route 10/202 to the intersection of Route 10/202 and Route 44, then taking a right onto Route 44 (West Main Street) heading west, where it will end at the corner of Route 44 and Ensign Drive at the Town Green. There will be a ceremony at the Veterans' Memorial on the Town Green following the parade. The Public is invited to spectate the parade and attend the ceremony as well. We expect a great day and hope for a large turnout. Please support us and honor those who gave their lives in the call of duty. We will remember them as well as ALL VETERANS on that day. Public support is very important! Due to COVID we did not have our annual parade last year so we look forward to seeing all of you on Monday, May 31st. Please come out and show your support! In case of rain, we are having a smaller ceremony at the Avon Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. (with limited attendance). Please call Bill Samol at 860-673-0594 with any questions (leave a message). Thank You,Avon VFW Post 3272
