CT Trooper Arrested On Assault Charges In Rhode Island

DANIELSON, CT — A Connecticut trooper has been arrested in Pawtucket, RI, according to a statement from State Police. Marwing Pena was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and simple assault.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at Providence District Court.

A State Police supervisor has seized Pena's department firearms, badge, identification, and police cruiser.

Pena’s police powers have been suspended and an internal affairs investigation is underway, according to the statement.

Pena has been employed by the State Police since October 2018. He was assigned to Troop D in Danielson.
