Firefighters Check for Hot Spots in Aftermath of Heritage Drive Fire

Four hours after an early morning fire Thursday at a Farmington Woods condominium complex on Heritage Drive in Avon, the fire was out, but smoke was still rising. 

About 50 firefighters from Avon, Farmington, Canton and Simsbury responded. As of 8:30 a.m., firefighters were still on scene checking for hot spots in the building and ventilating the structure. 

The Avon and state fire marshal offices are investigating the cause of the fire that displaced eight.
