Gifts of Love Golf Tournament Will Go On Oct. 13

Fundraiser Will Be COVID-compliant

The Gifts of Love’s charity golf tournament will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Golf Club of Avon. The event, which is a significant fundraiser for the Avon-based nonprofit, will be COVID-compliant. There are still available spots for foursomes and sponsors.

The day will kick off with an 8:30 am registration and breakfast followed by a 10:00 am Shotgun start. To accommodate social-distancing requirements, there will be three locations for the barbeque lunch and an outdoor cocktail hour and dinner. The day will cap off with a gift drawing and individual and team awards. There will be prizes in the putting contest, closest to the pin and longest drive contests. The Hooker Brewery truck and Litchfield Liquors will be on site throughout the day.

The annual event was originally scheduled to be held in June but postponed due to the virus. It is an important fundraiser for the 30-year-old nonprofit, which has continued to serve its clients with food throughout the pandemic, even adding new clients who have been financially impacted by the economic slowdown.

Those wishing to sponsor the event still have opportunities that range from $6000 to sponsor breakfast down to $200 to sponsor a tee. There are sponsorships at a variety of levels in between for businesses of all sizes. Most sponsorships include the opportunity to play on one of the finest courses in New England. All sponsorships offer visibility throughout the event.
