The school district has issued a statement after a member of the Roaring Brook School community tested positive for COVID-19.

AVON, CT — The district is enacting protocols after a member of the Roaring Brook School community tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. Superintendent Bridget Carnemolla said in a statement that the district determined next steps in consultation with the Farmington Valley Health District (FVHD).

Carnemolla wrote: "We have made the decision, in consultation with FVHD, that the staff and students who were in close contact with this individual will quarantine and engage in remote learning. All other staff and students will continue to report to school."

The district is also conducting a deep clean of the classroom and other areas the person who tested positive used.
