Obituary: Sidney Clark, 91, Of Avon

AVON, CT - Sidney Edward Clark, 91, of Avon, beloved husband of the late Muriel (Cooper) Clark, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. Born in Boston, MA, son of the late Elias Edward and Leslie Edith (Saunders) Clark, he was raised in Roxbury, MA and attended Yale University.

He served in the US Air Force and retired as Assistant Vice President of PC Group Special Risk for CIGNA after a long career. Sidney lived in Granby for many years before moving to Avon. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Tariffville.

He leaves his granddaughter Lakshmi Clark-McClendon, her husband Andre McClendon, his great grandchildren Sophia and Ethan all of Belmont, MA, his daughter-in-law Agneta Borstein of Avon, and many more beloved family members and friends. Besides his wife Muriel, he was predeceased by his son, Sidney Edward Clark, Jr. Sidney can be remembered for his enduring kindness, selflessness, eternal optimism, love of family, meditation, and tennis. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Contributions may be made to UNICEF.org in his memory.
