Participatory workshop 'Better Home. Better Life.' Set for June 10

A free participatory workshop for anyone wondering how to go about making a good home better is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Realty Works Meeting Center in Collinsville Center, 124 Main St., Canton. The workshop is the first in a series called “Better Home. Better Life.”

The presenter will be Jamie Wolf of the award-winning, Avon-based design-build firm Wolfworks Inc. A respected designer and industry innovator, he will share insights from 30 years of experience, describing a systematic way of discovering what’s possible and at what cost, then getting it done.

“Those who attend the workshop will discover how design thinking clears the path to a great home with a process they can manage and achieve,” Wolf said. “It’s a chance to learn how to think differently about what’s possible. Chances are it’s more than you thought.”

Wolf will discuss how to:
* Learn how to get the information you need to make smart choices and avoid common mistakes.
* Understand how building science and new technologies allow us to create dramatically more comfortable, healthy, durable, and efficient high performance homes.
* Look at how project budgets are established, managed, and guide decision making.
* See how imagination and craft combine to create spaces of lasting beauty.
* Consider when it makes sense to remodel, move, or build a custom home.
* Invite your home to change its bad habits and provide you with delight in place of frustration.
