Pedestrian Injured In Avon Crash
A worker assisting with a truck backing up early Monday morning was injured in the accident.

AVON, CT — Police responded to a call for a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at 5 a.m. Monday. The crash occurred in the area of West Avon Road and Arch Road.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrived on scene and found the pedestrian on the side of the road, conscious and alert. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released, but police said the victim is a worker with All Waste Inc.

At the time of the incident, the pedestrian was at the rear of the truck assisting with backing up on West Avon Road in an attempt to access a driveway.
Police said a motor vehicle traveling south on West Avon Road slowed for the truck but did not see the pedestrian.

All parties remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
