Pedestrian Killed In Avon Crash
A local man was struck and killed in a Thursday morning accident.

AVON, CT — A pedestrian was killed in an accident on Maple Lane Thursday morning, according to police. Officers arrived at the scene and found an unresponsive pedestrian, Daniel Paine, 79, of 11 Maple Lane, pinned under a vehicle.
Paine had been leaving a home on foot at about 9:30 a.m. and was struck by a vehicle. He was treated by emergency personnel but was unresponsive and succumbed to his injuries.
The State Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and responded to the scene.

All those involved remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is being handled by Avon police and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad.
