Cellist Peter Dzialo and pianist Tamila Azadaliyeva To Perform at Avon Free Public Library

Sundays at Three, the popular series of musical programs presented by the Friends of the Avon Library, continues on February 4 with a performance of a pair of romantic sonatas for cello and piano, those of César Franck and Edvard Grieg. Two impressive local artists, Peter Dzialo and Tamila Azadaliyeva, will share the spotlight in an hour that demonstrates the power of music to stir the soul, a listening experience that promises to be nothing short of magical.

Peter Dzialo is a concert cellist and the founder and guiding spirit/lead artist of Lonely Peaks Records, a classical music label. His interest in recording surfaced during his teen-age years at about the time he was selected to represent Connecticut as the Emerson Scholar at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Peter was admitted to The Yale Graduate School of Music at age seventeen where he studied with renowned cellist Aldo Parisot and was chosen as the founding cellist of the new Norfolk Chamber Ensemble for Yale’s Norfolk Music Festival. Following graduation from Yale in 2004, instead of continuing his studies at the Juilliard School where he had been offered a place, he chose to dedicate his efforts to recording. Fortunately, he continues to perform in public, primarily throughout New England. His appearances with Ms. Azadaliyeva are occasions that have consistently delighted.

Pianist Tamila Azadaliyeva was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where she attended the music school for gifted children affiliated with Tashkent State Conservatory. Upon earning her Bachelor of Music degree from the conservatory in 2000, she came to the United States to study at the Hartt School of Music where she received her Graduate Professional Diploma studying with Oxana Yablonskaya, and her Masters degree under the tutelage of Luiz de Moura Castro.

Tamila has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Italy, Spain, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and has been guest soloist with several orchestras including the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, Tamila teaches piano at the University of Hartford Hartt School and at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor.

All are welcome to this special program in the Community Room of the Avon Free Public Library, 281 Country Club Road, Avon. Free tickets will be available at 2:15 on the day of the performance with seating starting at 2:30. The one-hour program begins at 3:00. Light refreshments baked by The Friends of the Library will be served and there will be an opportunity to meet Mr. Dzialo and Ms. Azadaliyeva following their performance. They will be offering signed copes of their CDs for sale.
