Town of Avon Getting New Town Planner

The town of Avon will soon be getting a new town planner, reports the Hartford Courant.

Steven Kushner will be retiring after 26 years and Hiram Peck, the current Simsbury town planner, has been tapped as his replacement. The hope is that Peck will be in place by the end of August.

Peck has been the town planner in Simsbury for the past eight years and in addition to overseeing Simsbury’s land use office, he supervised the town’s building department.

He has a master’s degree in regional planning from the University of Massachusetts and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
