WEATHER UPDATE: Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Avon
We'll let you know when the storms are forecast for on Thursday, and let you know how the weekend is shaping up.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire state of Connecticut on Thursday for the chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
If we get severe weather, it will likely be between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The chance for severe weather is around 60 percent, according to the weather service. It also will remain hot and humid as temps approach the upper 80s on Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties, the weather advisory states, “THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE MAIN THREAT IS FROM DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.”

For Hartford and Tolland counties, the advisory is a bit different.
“SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL RESULT IN LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME STREET FLOODING...PARTICULARLY ACROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF MASSACHUSETTS AND CONNECTICUT. A SECONDARY CONCERN WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING ACROSS WESTERN MA AND NORTHERN CT. THE THREAT WOULD BE LOCALIZED STRONG TO DAMAGING WIND GUSTS,” the National Weather Service writes.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney writes, “Here is a look at the changes over the next 3-days. Tropical today. with storms 4-7 PM (a shower possible before, too). Dry tomorrow Just an isolated storm chance late Saturday.”
News 12 Weather writes, “Thunder threat (Thursday). Some storms could be strong. Be “weather aware” Thursday.
Weekend weather
The weekend looks great if you have outdoor plans, as skies will be sunny with temps in the mid to upper 80s throughout Connecticut on Saturday with the same on Sunday.
