Local Realtor Says The Berlin Market and the State Market is Hot
Buyers like the central location and variety of choices in town.

When the economic downturn came in 2010 perhaps no professionals were affected more than real estate agents. Not many people were building or buying during the last few years.
But that seems to have changed according to one local realtor.
"The real estate market in 2013 has been fantastic so far. It has really heated up and we are getting multiple offers again," said Realtor Nancy Newman, who works for ReMax Market Place at 80 Shunpike Rd. in Cromwell ((860)681-8649 cell phone.) "It is absolutely rebounding like most people think it is."

Newman usually sticks to the central Connecticut area but will work all over the state.
"I cover a large area," Newman said. "I've listed and sold homes from the shoreline to New Hartford, Hartford to New Haven and almost every town in between."

We asked Newman what are the hottest towns right now and where do people want to live?
"Believe it or not the quickest town this year was two homes I sold in Meriden," she said. "Both sold in a week. Middletown also sells quick. Berlin is a great town to sell, too. People love the central location and the prices are good.
I cover Berlin and Rocky Hill. I have four listings in Berlin right now and one on deposit. Rocky Hill and Berlin a great place to live. There is a wide variety of size and price of homes in Berlin but again the central location is very attractive to buyers. The listings are all getting several showings per week. I usually have at least 20-plus listings."
Is there a best time to sell?
"Most people would say spring but I have sold as many as 13 houses in December - not bad for one month," Newman said. "Everyone should be working with a professional licensed Realtor. It is best to have someone who will protect you and also understand your needs while buying and selling. The process is so much more than just the sale. There are inspection issues & the mortgage process. No deal is done until all of those have been completed unless you have a cash sale with no contingencies.
Most people thinking of buying or selling want to know the future.
"I think we will have a nice few years ahead of us," Newman added. "I just hope the mortgage rates will stay low. They have been going up a little lately."
