Wrecking Ball for The Hawthorne Inn?

The five-acre property on the Berlin Turnpike is for sale

A broker for the now vacant Hawthorne Inn on Berlin Turnpike says a proposal to buy the property includes demolition of the building that sits on a five-acre parcel that is prime for redevelopment.

Joe Granato, a broker with American Brokers & Consultants 4 Restaurants, told The Record Journal that he has one offer for the property and that he expects two more bids with plans to redevelop the property.

Since The Hawthorne Restaurant closed in July, it’s been on the market listed for $1.9 million, according to the newspaper report.
