2 Hospitalized After Head-On Collision In Bethel
Firefighters extricated one driver using the "jaws of life"

BETHEL, CT — Firefighters rescued a motorist from an overturned following a head-on collision Wednesday night.
Crews from Stony Hill volunteer Fire Company and Bethel were dispatched to site of the accident on the southern end of Old Hawleyville Road at around 6:15 pm. First responders found the aftermath of the 2-car crash, with one of the vehicles turned onto its driver's side with the motorist still inside.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and cut through the roof with their "Jaws of Life" tool, freeing the driver in approximately 10 minutes, according to fire officials.

Both motorists were taken to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Bethel Police Department.
