50 Firefighters Tackle House Blaze in Bethel

Bethel Fire & EMS, the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company all had a hand in extinguishing​ the fire

BETHEL, CT — Approximately 50 firefighters spent over two hours tackling a blaze that began in a shed on Walnut Tree Hill Road and spread to the nearby home on Saturday.

Bethel Fire & EMS, the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company all had a hand in extinguishing the fire, after being alerted about 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

First responders found that the shed fire had moved to the back of the house and the attic."Attack lines were brought inside to the second floor where crews had to initially back out after a ceiling collapse," according to the report from Stony Hill.

No one was injured.

The fire is under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal in Bethel.
