Bethel 5th Grader Takes Bronze at North American Finals

Bethel youngster and St. Mary’s School fifth grader Ashley Nicoletti took third place in the 9-10 100-meter run at the Hershey North American Track and Field Games on Saturday in Hershey, Penn.

Nicoletti competed against other 9- and 10-year-old girls from across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

Saturday was her first time at the North American finals, however the young runner is not new to major competition.

Before this weekend’s finals, Nicoletti won the 100- and 200-meter races at the Connecticut State Championships in June and placed 25th in 100-meter at the USATF National Junior Olympics in Houston in July. She has qualified for the Junior Olympics tournament for the last 3 years.
