Bethel Child Sexual Assault Case To Resume In July
Nathan K. Shupp, 43, of Bethel, is accused of inappropriately touching a child in his care last year, according to police.
BETHEL, CT—Court records show a Bethel man accused of inappropriately touching a child in his care is due back in court on July 20 at 10 a.m.
Nathan K. Shupp, 43, of Bethel, was arrested in July 2019 after a three-month police investigation following complaints filed by the child's relatives. He pleaded not guilty in August to fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to child and illegal sexual contact charges, according to court documents.
The child's mother told police she stopped letting her daughter go over to Shupp's house after the girl told her how Shupp had touched her.

The girl visited Shupp's home between August 2018 and February 2019, according to the arrest affidavit.
Shupp was held on a $50,000 bond immediately following his arrest, and is currently free on a $25,000 professional surety bond.
