Bethel Gas Leak Under Investigation
The driver of the truck that crashed into a building, causing the leak, was "miraculously uninjured," according to fire officials.
BETHEL, CT — Police are investigating a gas leak on Grassy Plain Street after a truck crashed into a building, severing the natural gas meter for the unit.
Around 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, first responders from the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department found a pick up truck with landscaping trailer inside the building, resulting in severe structural damage.
The driver was "miraculously uninjured," according to Stony Hill officials.

Firefighters "set up a protective ground monitor, keeping a constant flow of water on the gas leak," after calling on Eversource to get the leak under control.
After the gas was shut off, emergency management and building department officials responded to the scene. Crews left the scene around 3:30 p.m.
