Bethel Man Arrested For Child Pornography: Southbury PD
The child pornography material was found during a search related to the harassment of a woman on Snapchat, police said.
SOUTHBURY, CT — A Bethel man was arrested after he was found in possession of child pornography, according to police.
Southbury Police began investigating Dec. 10, 2018 after a 25-year-old woman told police she was being harassed on Snapchat by someone who logged into her account and sent her her own photographs with a short video containing inappropriate material, police said.
Police learned of the physical address of where the person was logging into the woman's account through the use of search warrants. They conducted a search of 35 South Street Apt. 2 in Bethel in February and seized multiple electronic devices.

Southbury Police conducted a forensic search and found that Kyle Coffey, 29, had stolen or attempted to steal photographs of multiple women through their Snapchat or email accounts, police said. Two more victims were identified and were notified by police of the breach.
Detectives also found multiple images and videos of child pornography during the search of the devices, police said.

Coffey was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, risk of injury to a minor, three counts of third-degree computer crime, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
