Bethel Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Thefts

5 vehicles vanished inside an hour. Bethel police are asking for the public's assistance in their investigation of the thefts.

BETHEL, CT — Police are investigating reports of stolen vehicles and vehicle burglaries that occurred Friday morning.

Between 7:30-8:30 a.m., four vehicles were reported stolen from homes in the area of Chestnut Ridge Road, and numerous other vehicles had been rummaged through, according to police.

Around the same time, a fifth vehicle was stolen from Dodgingtown Market, just over the town line in Newtown.

All the stolen vehicles had been left unlocked, with the keys still inside them. All the vehicles rummaged through has also been left unlocked.

An extensive search of the area by numerous officers turned up no suspects, police said. Anyone with any helpful information is urged to contact the Bethel Police at 203-744-7900.

In social media, police urged residents to "Please ensure that your motor vehicles are locked and that any key fobs are within a safe distance from your vehicles."
